Air Monitor Corp.’s ELECTRA-flo G5 Meets the UL 60730-1 Standard

Our airflow measurement and control manufacturer, Air Monitor Corporation (AMC) announced some exciting news this week – their product, the ELECTRA-flo G5 now meets the UL 60730-1 standard!  UL is a global company that works with customers and stakeholders to help navigate market complexity. The UL 60730-1 international standard is a broad safety category which applies to automatic electrical controls for equipment that may be used by the public, such as equipment intended to be used in shops, offices, hospitals, farms, and commercial, and industrial applications.

In this case, AMC did not just keep up with the competition, they surpassed them! This is another positive step among many, but they are not done. AMC is in the process of obtaining labels and will notify their rep base when transmitters are shipping with the UL mark. Upon request, reps can obtain labels for installation in the field provided for any transmitters shipped from March 10th onward.

About the ELECTRA-flo G5

The ELECTRA-flo Thermal Probe Array utilizes thermal dispersion technology in multi-point probes to measure average airflow and temperature. The rugged anodized aluminum probes have aerodynamic sensor apertures that condition turbulent airflow, resulting in a NIST traceable accuracy of +/- 2% of actual flow. Each probe array comes complete with an ELECTRA-flo transmitter for local data display, performing configuration and calibration, and to provide analog outputs of airflow and temperature.

The ELECTRA-flo G5 is a transmitter series within the probe array or measuring station. This system accurately measures the average velocity of flowing air by means of thermal dispersion at the sensor locations in the duct. Temperature is also measured via these sensors. The G5 transmitter can receive up to 32 individual flow sensors measuring airflow in a single duct or fan, and it generates the outputs, including network and analog signals, which are conveyed to a local controller or BMS.
