IEQ in Green Buildings

As I complete my fifth and final year as chair of Standing Standards Project Chair 189.1, Standard for the Design of High-Performance, Green Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, indulge me while I reflect on how this standard and other green building programs have dealt with indoor environmental quality (IEQ). I have spent my 35+ year career focused on ventilation and indoor air quality (IAQ), including many years of involvement in Standard 62.1, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, before I joined the Standard 189.1 committee.
