ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The Society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability within the industry. Through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow’s built environment today. ASHRAE was formed as the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers by the merger in 1985 of American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHAE) founded in 1894 and the American Society of Regrigerating Engineers (ASRE) founded in 1904.
To advance the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world.
ASHRAE will be the global leader, the foremost source of technical and educational information, and the primary provider of opportunity for professional growth in the arts and sciences of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigerating.
In 2015 ASHRAE set a goal to meet 55,000 members. Thanks to the hard ambien work and perseverance of each chapter’s efforts and national’s leadership, they sailed pass that goal and currently have 55,611 members! Flow Tech is proud to be included in this global membership number. We support our employees in joining industry associations, especially trend-setting associations like ASHRAE. We are actually leading in our Connecticut Chapter’s own membership battle for medium sized companies (11-40 employees).
As a way to help promote new membership ASHRAE National decided to put together a video compilation of individual chapter’s activities. Each chapter was asked to send in 1-5 pictures for possible inclusion. The point was to show perspective members that although learning and professional development are the backbone of this association, we still know how to have fun. Below are two videos each featuring pictures from ASHRAE chapters around the globe. The Connecticut chapter made it into video 1. Take a look and see if you can spot some Flow Tech employees!
